About the event
The Grand Prix Migros is the world’s largest youth ski racing series, attracting thousands of young competitors from across Switzerland to qualify in regional heats. Each year the season culminates in a high‑profile final, and in 2026 Crans‑Montana will once again host this celebratory event. Over the course of four days, skiers aged 8 to 15 test their skills on professionally prepared giant‑slalom courses. The event is not only a competition but a festival of snow culture: sponsor villages set up tents with games and product demos, professional athletes give autographs, and families picnic in the snow while cheering on their children. Because the final acts as a national championship for youth skiing, the atmosphere is both fun and serious – for many participants it’s their first taste of a major competition environment. Spectators can watch young racers navigate gates on slopes that have hosted World Cup events, demonstrating impressive technique and courage. Awards ceremonies are held each afternoon, recognising winners in multiple age categories. For the host resort, the Grand Prix Migros final showcases the excellence of its ski infrastructure and its commitment to youth sports.

Who is it for?
Families with aspiring ski racers will find the Grand Prix Migros final thrilling. It’s an opportunity for young participants to compete on big slopes and feel part of a national event. Parents and siblings can enjoy the festive atmosphere and interact with sponsors. Ski enthusiasts, even without a competitor in the race, will appreciate watching talented young athletes and witnessing the energy of a youth ski community. Because the event runs over several days, visitors can combine spectating with regular skiing or snowboarding. Those who prefer a quieter holiday may want to avoid the slopes used for the races during competition hours, as they can be busy. However, there are plenty of alternative runs open to the public.

How to get there from the hotel
Most Grand Prix Migros activities take place on the Nationale and Mont Lachaux slopes above Crans‑Montana. To watch the races, guests should make their way to the base of the Crans‑Cry d’Er gondola. From Faern Resorts, walk or take the shuttle to the gondola station – it’s about a 15‑minute walk. Once at the top station, follow signs to the race area; ski passes are required to access the lifts. If you are not skiing, you can still take the gondola as a pedestrian (a ticket is required) and then walk or snowshoe to the spectator zones, which are usually set up near the finish areas. Dress warmly and bring sunscreen; March sunshine in the Alps can be strong. Consult the event programme for race times and plan to arrive early to find a good viewing spot.
