New Year Eve

Crans‑Montana rings in the New Year with style. On 31 December the resort’s village squares transform into open‑air celebration zones. As the ski lifts close and the afternoon turns to evening, the village comes alive with live DJ sets and bands playing festive playlists. Temporary bars and food stalls serve mulled wine, hot chocolate and local delicacies. As midnight approaches, crowds gather to watch a spectacular fireworks display over the snow‑covered peaks. The colourful fireworks reflect off the mountains, creating a dazzling panorama that has become a signature of Crans‑Montana’s winter season. Restaurants and bars extend their opening hours, offering set menus and New Year toasts. After midnight, the party continues in nearby clubs and lounges, where both locals and visitors dance until the early hours. Unlike larger urban celebrations, Crans‑Montana’s New Year event retains an intimate feel – you can wander between squares, sample different music styles and still feel part of a single community celebration. Whether you’re drawn by the outdoor entertainment, the fireworks or the cosy indoor parties, you’ll find options to suit every mood.

Who is it for?
The New Year’s Eve Festivities appeal to adults, older families and groups of friends who enjoy lively celebrations. Couples may savour a romantic midnight kiss under the fireworks, while groups can dance together in the open air. Because the party involves alcohol and stays open late, it’s best suited for guests comfortable in crowded settings. However, families with teenagers can still enjoy the earlier part of the evening, including the countdown and fireworks, before heading back to the hotel for a quieter night. Those seeking a quieter celebration can watch the fireworks from a scenic viewpoint – such as a balcony facing the mountains – and then retire early. One of the best aspects of the event is its flexibility: you can make it the centrepiece of your night or simply stop by to soak up the festive atmosphere before a private dinner.

How to get there from the hotel
Faern Resorts Crans‑Montana sits within walking distance of the main celebration areas. To reach Place Victoria or Place des Charmettes, exit the hotel and head south through the village centre. You’ll join the flow of revellers moving toward the squares. The walk typically takes around 10 minutes, though allow extra time if the streets are snowy. Signs and decorations will guide you, and hotel reception can provide a map. If you prefer not to walk, the resort’s free Shuttle Bus operates until late on New Year’s Eve and stops near both squares. Keep in mind that vehicle access to the village centre may be restricted after 20:00, so walking is often the quickest way. Dress in warm layers, wear sturdy shoes and bring a sense of celebration!
