Engadinwind 2026 - wind sports on Lake Silvaplana

From 17 to 28 August 2026, Engadinwind turns Lake Silvaplana into the centre of the wind-sports world, ten minutes from Hotel Schweizerhof in Sils Maria.
The event
The lake's famous Maloja wind rises almost every summer afternoon, which is why windsurfers, kiters and wingfoilers have raced here for close to fifty years. The 2026 edition hosts the Wingfoil Open Masters World Championships and the 49th Engadin Surf Marathon, the historic long-distance race across the lake, alongside slalom, foil and youth competitions. Between races, the Mulets sports centre in Silvaplana runs as a festival village with athletes from more than 15 nations, music and lakeside energy.
Where to watch from Hotel Schweizerhof
The competition area sits on the northern shore of Lake Silvaplana, one lake over from Sils. By bike, the lakeside path from Sils Maria reaches Silvaplana in around 20 minutes; the Engadin Bus and the car both take about ten. On strong wind days you can already watch the sails from the Sils side of the lake, then wander over to the festival grounds for the finals.
