The event

St. Moritz is the sixth of eight stops on the 2026/27 IBSF World Cup, which opens in Altenberg in November and ends in Sigulda in February. Over three race days, the best bobsleigh and skeleton athletes in the world race on a track that is built anew every winter. Track builders from South Tyrol shape it in about three weeks from around 15,000 m³ of snow and 10,000 m³ of water, and it has been raced on since the first competition on 1 January 1904. The run hosted the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 and 1948 and will host the IBSF World Championships in 2028.

The competition track is 1,722 m long, with 19 curves and a vertical drop of 130 m, and four-man bobs reach up to 135 km/h. Its best-known curves are the Horse Shoe, the sharpest corner of the run, and Sunny Corner. Spectators can watch at the start in St. Moritz, at the Horse Shoe and at the finish in Celerina. On the same weekend, the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz is played on the frozen Lake St. Moritz, so one visit can take in both events.
