Jackson Cup 2027 - historic curling in St. Moritz
.webp)
The 129th Jackson Cup brings more than a century of curling tradition to St. Moritz on 16 and 17 January 2027, a short ride from Hotel Schweizerhof in Sils Maria.
The event
The Jackson Cup is played for a silver challenge cup that N.L. Jackson donated in 1887, and St. Moritz curlers have contested it since the late 1890s. For much of its history it counted as the most important curling tournament in Switzerland, and it is still a fixture of the St. Moritz winter, hosted by the St. Moritz Curling Club, one of the oldest curling clubs on the continent. Teams gather for two days of matches in the heart of the Engadin, where curling has been part of alpine winters since the 19th century. The draw and start list are published by the club closer to the date, so check the official site for the running order. The setting does the rest: crisp January air, the peaks of the Upper Engadin on the skyline, and a tournament that carries its full history onto the ice.
