The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2027 - classic cars on the frozen lake

On 29 and 30 January 2027, The I.C.E. St. Moritz drives some of the world's rarest classic and racing cars out onto the frozen Lake St. Moritz, about fifteen minutes from Hotel Schweizerhof in Sils Maria.
The event
The I.C.E., short for International Concours of Elegance, is unlike any other classic car gathering. Instead of a manicured lawn, the stage is the frozen surface of the lake. Collectors bring pre-war grand tourers, post-war racers and one-off design studies, and many are driven across the ice rather than parked, so the cars are seen the way they were meant to move. Each edition follows a set of themed classes judged by an international jury, with categories that reward provenance, rarity and sheer presence. The setting, snow-covered peaks around a white lake, makes it one of the most photographed automotive events in the Alps.
Where to watch from Hotel Schweizerhof
The event takes place on the lake at St. Moritz, roughly 15 minutes from Sils Maria by car or a direct ride on the Engadin Bus. Spectator access to the ice is ticketed, so from the hotel you can be lakeside for the morning runs and back in Sils for a quiet evening. Classic cars run right through the Engadin calendar, winter and summer alike, so a January visit sits naturally alongside the region's motoring events.
