Silser Sunday Concerts 2026 - free open-air classical music

free
every Sunday
Every Sunday until 13 September 2026, Sils Maria hosts a free classical concert in the open air, three minutes on foot from Hotel Schweizerhof.
The event
The Silser Sunday Concerts are a village tradition going back decades: chamber ensembles and soloists play a curated programme at the concert square near the entrance to the Fex gorge, with the mountains for a backdrop and the audience seated a few metres from the players. Concerts start at 16:30, moving to 16:00 from 23 August; there is no concert on 6 September. When the weather turns, the music simply moves indoors to the Offene Kirche. The repertoire runs from baroque to romantic and back, in a village that has drawn composers, writers and one resident philosopher for over a century.
Around the village
The concert square sits at the mouth of the Fex Valley, a three-minute walk from the hotel, so a concert folds easily into a Sunday of hiking or a lazy lakeside afternoon. For the full summer of music, the Engadin Festival adds two world-class evenings in Sils in late July and early August.
