Snowboarding in Arosa offers a mix of wide, flowing pistes, natural terrain features, and park areas designed for freestyle riding. The connected Arosa–Lenzerheide ski area provides 225 km of prepared runs across two valleys, linked by the Urdenbahn cable car. With a village altitude of 1,775 m and slopes reaching up to 2,865 m, snow coverage is consistent throughout the long season from late November to mid-April. The range of slopes caters to all riding styles, from beginners making their first turns to advanced riders looking for freeride zones or park sessions.

Local Area Focus – Arosa

From the village, lifts such as the Weisshorn gondola and Hörnli-Express provide quick access to the mountain. The Tschuggen area is popular with beginners due to its gentle slopes and wide piste layout, making it easy to link turns and build confidence. The Tomeli lift offers short, quiet runs well suited to learning.

Riders looking for longer descents often choose the Carmenna run, which offers varied terrain from the Weisshorn middle station down to the village, including wide sections for carving and more technical sections near the bottom. The Weisshorn summit run at 2,653 m provides an open, high-alpine experience with panoramic views and reliable snow.

The Hörnli sector is well-regarded by snowboarders for its terrain variety, quick lift connections, and access to the Urdenbahn for reaching the Lenzerheide side. Here, riders can enjoy steeper pistes, natural rollers, and entry points to ungroomed terrain in good conditions.

Regional Overview – Arosa–Lenzerheide

The Arosa–Lenzerheide area offers 87 km of blue runs, 110 km of red runs, and 28 km of black runs, along with designated freeride routes. Over 40 lifts connect the network, including fast chairlifts and gondolas. The Lenzerheide side features longer, more sustained descents and tree-lined runs that can provide better visibility during snowfall.

Freestyle riders can visit the snowpark on the Lenzerheide side, which features kickers, rails, and boxes of varying difficulty, along with a boardercross track. On the Arosa side, natural terrain features and side hits along the pistes provide plenty of opportunities for freestyle riding without heading into the park.

Many shops offer online reservations and in some cases hotel delivery, allowing guests to pick up equipment on arrival.
