Coop Family Hike on Mannlichen, Saturday 15 August 2026

Saturday 15 August 2026, an interactive theatre hike from Mannlichen down to Holenstein above the Lauterbrunnen valley.
The Coop Familienwanderung turns a 4.9 km mountain trail into a guided adventure for families with children. Actors in costume bring the 2026 story to life along the route, the Helvetians and their magic potion, with characters Vrenix and Sepplix needing the children's help to solve puzzles and find hidden ingredients. The hike runs from the top station of the Männlichen cableway at 2,220 metres down to the middle station at Holenstein at 1,621 metres, in one easy walking direction with a slow pace built in for stops along the way.
What to expect on the trail
- 4.9 km one-way, about one hour thirty minutes of walking
- The trail is not suitable for prams
- The performance is in German, suitable for German-speaking children
- A small registration mission is sent in the post to children before the day
