Big Alphorn Festival on Mannlichen, Sunday 9 August 2026

Sunday 9 August 2026 on Mannlichen, a free festival of alphorns, flag wavers and folk music above the Lauterbrunnen valley.

Take the Wengen-Männlichen Aerial Cableway up to one of the most photogenic concert venues in the Bernese Oberland. Berghaus Männlichen and the two cableways host the Big Alphorn Festival with flag wavers every August, with traditional Swiss music played in the open air at 2,343 metres. Admission is free, and the ride from Wengen takes about ten minutes door-to-door.

Programme

From 10:00: music on the terrace at Berghaus Männlichen with the Jodlerklub Grindelwald and the Schwyzerörgeliquartett Gemsberg.

Main alphorn and flag waver performances at 11:00 and 14:00.

Solo alphorn performances after the main sets, announced on-site.

Location: Berghaus Männlichen, reached from Wengen by the Aerial Cableway Wengen-Männlichen, or from Grindelwald Terminal by the Cable Car Grindelwald-Männlichen.
