.webp)
Every October, Grindelwald’s main street comes alive with colour, music and the scent of fresh alpine produce. The Grindelwald Market, known locally as Grindelwald-Märt, is a lively one-day event that offers visitors a taste of authentic Bernese Oberland village life.
Event Overview
Date: 6 October 2025
For one day only, Grindelwald’s Dorfstrasse is closed to traffic and lined with stalls selling regional products, from mountain cheese and dried meats to handmade crafts and souvenirs. The market has been a local tradition for decades and attracts both residents and visitors to enjoy its festive atmosphere.
What to Expect
The day begins in the morning and runs well into the evening. Visitors can browse dozens of stalls, sample traditional foods, and chat with local producers. A children’s carousel adds charm for families, while street musicians provide a lively soundtrack. Food and drink stands are dotted along the route, serving favourites like raclette, sausages and sweet pastries.

- Bring cash, as not all stalls accept cards
