Entertainment facilities at Altein
Cinema, games room and a whole floor for the children
Hotel Altein keeps the cinema, the games room and the children's play room one beside the other, so a family can split by age without splitting up the afternoon. Outside, the playground and the games cart take over as soon as the cloud lifts. Rain in the mountains is a change of floor here, not a change of plan.
Everything on this page is free for hotel guests. Cues, bats, balls and board games come from reception.

Cinema
A proper cinema in the basement: a big screen, wall speakers and rows of deep armchairs. There is a film every evening, so the day can end here after dinner without anyone leaving the hotel. On a rainy afternoon it is the quietest room in the house, and the easiest way to give children ninety minutes of something to do. Ask at reception for tonight's film.

Games room
Pinball machines, table football, table tennis, a billiard table and air hockey, all in one room in the basement. It is where the hotel gathers when the weather closes in, and it works for a ten-year-old and a teenager at the same time, which few rooms do. Everything is free for hotel guests. Cues, bats and balls are at reception.

Kids play room
A bright room for the youngest guests: a teepee to hide in, a wooden climbing frame with a slide, a hopscotch rug and shelves of games and toys chosen for small children, so there is always something new to pull out. Glass walls keep it in view from the next room, and the big windows keep the mountains in view from the floor. It is the room for the hour before dinner, when small legs are tired and the rest of the family is not.

Playground
A small playground on the hotel grounds with swings and space to run, close enough to the terrace to watch from a chair with a coffee. When the children want more room, the large public playground is about 200 metres from the hotel, a short walk on a flat path. Between the two, an afternoon looks after itself.

Board games
The hotel keeps a wide selection of board games and cards for an evening together after dinner, when the children are not ready for bed and nobody wants a screen. Ask at reception, they know which games suit which age and will help you choose. Take your pick to the lounge, the terrace or your room, and bring it back when you are done.

Outside games
In summer the lawn has its own equipment: a large outdoor chess set and a range of other games for the grass and the terrace. Everything is free to use and needs no booking. Ask at reception when you are at the hotel and they will show you what is out that day.
