Arosa Humorfestival 2026 - comedy in the Alps
.webp)
For ten days each December, Arosa fills with laughter. The Arosa Humorfestival returns from 3 to 13 December 2026 for its 35th-anniversary edition, bringing comedians, cabaret artists and clowns to venues across the village. It is one of Switzerland's largest comedy festivals, and it turns the quiet start of the winter season into the liveliest fortnight of the year.
The festival
Since 1991, the Arosa Humorfestival has gathered the best of German-language comedy and cabaret high in the mountains. Across the ten days the programme runs from stand-up to musical comedy, magic and clowning, staged in the festival tent and in halls and hotels around Arosa. Most performances are in German or Swiss German, so the festival draws a largely German-speaking audience, though the visual and musical acts travel across any language. Headliners are announced through the autumn, and popular nights sell out early. The festival takes over the village at the very start of the season, when the first snow is on the slopes and Arosa is dressed for winter. Between shows there is time to ski the opening pistes of the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area, walk the winter trails or sit by the Obersee as the light fades, so an afternoon on the mountain leads easily into an evening of comedy.
